Night's Sleep Secrets



Look back, when was the last time you had enough sleep? Can’t remember, huh? In a society driven by high energy, where we have been made to believe, that we have to work so hard all the time, healthy sleep is just a dream for a lot of people. Studies into hours of sleep have confirmed that the average of working person gets only six hours of sleep a night. Ideally we need at least seven, but preferably eight hours sleep every night remain healthy and alert. Too much sleep is not good for us either, but catching up on lost sleep at the weekend, is a worthwhile effort.

Spending extra hours at work and with your family is important, we know that. But if you want to be productive continually and be energized, you also need to spend enough time sleeping.
Love your job so much and can’t slack off a bit during the week days? Then you can take the weekend off to practice this ‘Good Night’s Sleep Secrets’

1 Try relaxation such as deep breathing, progressive relaxation (tensing and releasing one group of muscles at a time, starting at the feet and working upward toward the head).

2 Listen to cool music or watch a slow pace TV show.

3 Watch what you drink. Avoid caffeine, found in colas, coffee, tea, and chocolate, for six hours before bedtime. Drink some warm milk, it may help you sleep.

4 Wear ear plugs to help block out the noise, or sometimes using fan help drown active noise out and promote good sleep.

5 Take a warm bath to relax, using some calming essential oils.

6 Eat a banana or some turkey about half an hour before you go to sleep as both foods contain a hormone that is precursor to sleep.

Amy Winehouse's death at Last

Amy Winehouse died aged 27 on 23 July 2011. Amy was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in September 2004 for her album 'Frank'.

According to ShowBizM, it is said that Amy's mother, said Amy's death was only a matter of matter because of the heavy way she was hooked on drugs. The singer was found dead in her London home on Sunday.  

As hard as life might get on you, when there is no more physical strength to push you on and you feel you've reach the screeching halt of life mysterious journey, look within for that you that has brought you thus far, and keep holding on. Success is not about getting there. It is more about remaining there. Do everything you can to stay away from drugs.

Music Review


Once the gospel artiste KSB, rocked with her few come out tracks, the mind left for dead, she has little to play with musical wise and her reward has since been thumbs-down. Moti Goke, her latest video. There are charming touches to this musical video. Such as the frame composition. The director really did a good  job translating the storyline to screen. Thumbs-up to the video-man too. And a big credit to the editor, because that's where picture aesthetic really lies. The gaffer as well did wonderfully, with the lighting. Terry G, sure blow-up my mind as always with his input in this video. With this great video, KSB will sure soon become Beyonce.

Tone Up Two







If you have no swimming pool at your house, the bath tub is another place that you can use water weight to good effect.


For instance to slim waist and diaphragm, sit up in your in your bath and keep legs straight and touch left foot with right hand and right foot with left hand. 

Typical salon treatments: there is nothing quite like a water massage to stimulate all the nerve endings on the skin’s surface and imbue you with a feeling of being totally recharged right from top to toe.

Underwater massage: jets of water massage the body to tone the muscles – generally invigorating. The pressure scale usually goes from 1 – just tickling sensation – to 7 which is quite strong. You can actually see your skin being sucked up and toned. It is just like the effect of the tried and proven G5 massage on a beauty couch – but more powerful. You lie in a big bath, complete with handrails; you need to hold on. The operator directs the pressure at your problem areas. This is the usual procedure: outside ankle to knee to outside thigh; repeated on the inside of the leg; then the tummy. Then exactly the same performance on backs of legs, buttocks and either side of the spine.

Obviously if you’ve got a lot of fatty tissue on your shoulders, they benefit from treatment too. The whole treatment takes 20 minutes if you are small; but if you are more generously proportioned it’s more like half an hour.

Yet even non-swimmers can get increased effects from any exercise movement by doing it in water. Because of the lack of gravity the body weights less and you can achieve better results in water than on dry land. For best results, exercises should be done in warm water than cold – the muscles will stretch and tone better.

Exercising in water. For waist and hips: lie on tummy, in any depth of water, arms stretched out in front, hands gripping sides of pool or a float, legs straight and together. Then open legs making as wide a V as possible. Bring legs together and swing right. Repeat to left. Build up to twenty repeats. For tummy and bottom: take up the same starting position as in previous exercise. Bring right knee up to chest, or as near as possible, and push down again in a circular movement.

Repeat with left leg until you are cycling as vigorously as you can. Up to twenty complete cycles. Treading in water: for overall toning, this is the next best thing to breast stroke. Stand free, in any depth of water – up to chest height (the deeper, the more beneficial the exercise).  Raise right knee to chest, clasp with arms. Then straighten leg out in front and bring arms up to clasp hands over your head. Then take a step forward, swing right arm down over right leg. Carry on walking, pacing out with alternates arms and legs. Do up to twenty paces.

Do you know that the loss of texture and condition can be attributed to over-stringent dieting which is not usually recognized?
When water consumption is almost entirely cut out or drastically reduced, dehydration occurs. That’s because the body still needs a certain amount of fluid for efficient blood circulation and in an emergency ‘takes’ from the skin. The moral is that when you are aiming to diet never cut down on liquids – that’s not a way to cheat your looks-day in, day out, your body needs between six eight and eight glasses of water.
Three-day water cure: when you have been over-indulging in rich food, want to detoxify your system and wash away impurities, try a water cure, the French way. Stock up on pure mineral water, of your choice, which will act as a natural diuretic, and eat plenty of fruit. Then let nature take its course. At the end of a cleansing fast like this you should feel full of vitality and energy and your skin should reflect this sense of well-being. It is quite common to have headache and generally feel out of sorts after the first twenty-four hours, while the body rids itself of toxins. This will pass. That’s why it’s important that two of your three days take in the weekend so that (away from work and with husband or friends running the household) you can be as relaxed as possible.
Here is the ideal kind of program:
On awakening: drink a glass of water, preferably while lying down on your left side; this position will help drain the bile from the liver and also encourage the water to pass quickly through the system, taking waste matter with it. Breakfast: as much water as you like, plus half a grapefruit or a wedge of melon. Mid-morning: two glasses of water; again, drunk in Rubens pose. Lunch: fruit bowl – choose from oranges, grapes, melon, apples, grapefruit and pears – plus another glass of water. Tea; two glasses of water, drunk in the reclining position. Dinner: as lunch. Nightcap: a final glass of water once you are lying in bed.
In the long term, aim to improve your shape and skin tone. You can lose weight simply by cutting coffee, tea, alcohol and soft drinks and replacing them with water. Try it for a few weeks and you will watch your weight drop and your skin freshen. Or, take another tip from the French and drink water with meals: that helps fill you up and suppresses your desire for food.

Aging Process


Suddenly water has become the ultimate moisturizer for a beautiful body and everyone began to appreciate the tremendous relationship between the water content of the skin and its beauty.
Scientists realized that much-admired skin of a baby is at the peak of hydration, and, therefore, wonderfully soft and smooth. Painfully, as we grow older our bodies begin to lose the knack retaining water, and without help, both inside and out, the skin becomes dehydrated; which in turn accelerates the aging process.
The initial antidote is quite straightforward. Drink a certain amount of water daily in order to function well; if you don’t sup up your quota then the body draws on all its water reservoirs including those of the skin.
At a surface level, there are two enemies to guard against. The first is exposure to the elements: wind, cold, sun and dry air all increase the rate at which water evaporates from the skin. The other superficially damaging and drying influences can be result of sheer mishandling, such as using over-harsh, or the wrong type of products.
Looking on the bright side, the skin can be protected against water loss with contemporary product ‘discoveries’ which don’t only add extra moisture but prevent it escaping.
